Adamjee insurance profit spikes 400%

KARACHI: Admajee Insurance Company Limited registered 400 percent growth in its net profit to Rs 441.44 million in the quarter ended on March 31, 2009 against Rs 88.425 million in the same period of previous year. Earning per share also grew to Rs 4.32 in the quarter under review over Rs 0.86 in the same quarter of last year, Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) announced on Monday. On the revenue side, net premium revenue grew to Rs 1.779 billion against Rs 1.620 billion in the previous year whereas the net claims dropped to Rs 1.138 billion from Rs 1.401 billion in the corresponding quarter of previous year. The income on investment, rental and other heads also recorded growth during the quarter under review. staff report
